The advisory board for the Miami Beach Convention
Center casted a voted that favored Portman-CMC over their competition, ACE. A
major deciding factor in this decision was Portman-CMC’s plan to make a
separate ballroom that will keep the convention center functioning even during
construction. Also, there will be more accessibility for the ballroom if it is
detached from the convention center.
